Physics in Year 8
Year 8 physics at QIS covers some of the fundamental building blocks. The general theme for physics in year 8 at QIS is looking at how energy moves.
We do this in the first half term by studying waves and how they transmit energy. In the second half term we look at how thermal energy moves and gravity and its effects on us. There are two key skills that we will be developing in year 8. The first that we come back to repeatedly throughout both units is being able to explain how particles behave in solids liquids and gases. The second is being able to critically evaluate your practical investigation skills. Here at QIS we hope you or your son/daughter enjoys studying physics in year 8 and this will lead to them being fully prepared for physics in year 9 and beyond. |
